




November 2011:
Virginia Tech’s Cook Counseling Center presented the live
version of Wong Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest to de-stigmatize
mental health issues, bring cultural sensitivity and awareness around Asian
American mental health. It
was the first time their counseling center ever presented a performance. Judging

November 2011: Stanford! Kristina’s show kicked off the APAMSA Medical Student Conference at Stanford University! In the audience were doctors, future doctors, and members of the Stanford community. The post show talk got a great dialogue going about depression and suicide.
September 2011: Premiere Success! Our world premiere at the Burbank International Film Festival pre-sold so many tickets, they moved us into the 400 seat screening room. See pictures from our screening and premiere party here!

January 2011: Kristina Wong is featured Monday, Jan 17th on Channnel 4's KNBC 5 O’clock news. She will be talking about Amy Chua’s controversial article “Why Chinese Mothers are Superior” in the Wall Street Journal.
Oct 2010: Kristina and Wong Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest featured on PBS Show's Need to Know website.
Sept 2010: Wong Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest reviewed favorably on Film Threat Magazine.
July 2010: Kristina’s guest blogs for Tavis Smiley about the show and DVD. It is featured on the front page of the PBS.org website!
May 2010: The live show of Wong Flew was presented at the REDCAT, Roy and Edna Disney/CalArts Theater as part of the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Arts Journalism Institute in Theater and Musical Theater-- an NEA conference for arts critics who have been selected for a fellowship with the NEA.
After wrapping up a 2009 tour from Alaska, San Diego, Las Vegas, Minneapolis to Los Angeles-- Wong Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest continues touring in 2010 with dates in Tulsa, OK, Tempe, AZ and many other cities to be announced!
Kristina just received a MAPFUND award to develop her new show “CAT LADY.”
Kristina will be writing screenplays and other new work at the prestigious MacDowell Colony in January 2010.
